WANGANUI NOMINATIONS SPLENDID ENTRIES RECEIVED HAROLD LOGMAN'-ENGAGED. Splendid nominations have been received; for the Wanganui Trotting Club’s annual meeting, to be held oh April 6 and 13. Entries total no less than 273, compared with 212 last year. To Race on Circuit CES DONALD’S BIG TEAM

C. S. Donald will patronise the West Coast (North Island) circuit this season, where he contemplates racing six members of his team. His representatives will probably bo Blondie, Insolvent, Red Gold, Casino, Survivor and Plutus. They will appear at Manawatu, Wauganui, Hawera, and Taranaki. Blondie has developed into a solid-looking gelding, and is the star member of the team. He won three races on the saipe circuit last year, and when seen at his owner’s place recently, he left an impression that he had settled down. Biondie always has been regarded as a fast horse and a game finisher, but the three acci-1 ients he had last year unnerved him for a while, but he has got over his unfortunate experiences, and should} ie a profitable stake-earner from now]

on. Insolvent is troubled with un- j soundness, but with the promise : t ' soft tracks his trainer hopes to keep him up to liis work. The big grass courses oil the Taranaki will suit him. Red Gold is a speedy gelding, who has been bcaTcn In several races because of lack of solidity. He is settling down .with age and racing experience, and lie should do well on the tour. Plutus is a three-year-old full-brother to Avernus. He is a god-looking gelding is a, nice pacer, but- he is a delicate gelding, and though capable enough to win a race or two in his class, he will take a year or two to strengthen and go a distance. Survivor is the only trotter in the team. He is a deep-think-ing customer but on his good days he can trot, and he can stay, but he has got to have everything to his liking. The other member is the four-year-old mare Casino, who disapointed her connections at Wellington. She has evidently thrown off the effects, of her trip to Wellington, but her trainer is uncertain about her programme.
