LOYAL KAPONGA LODGE. The last two fortnightly meetings of the Loyal Kaponga Lodge were presided over by Bros. F. Beresford and J. Carbis, N.G.’s. . / Tlie first was election night, the following officers being elected for the ensuing term: G.N., Bro. F. Beresford j N.G., Bro. J. Carbis ; V.&., Bro. N. Hudson i permanent secretary, Bro. A. Melville: elective secretary, Bro. R. Gwyn; R.S.N.G., Sister S. Bertie; L.S.N.G., Bio. J. W. Kenyon; R.S.V.G., Bro, L. A. W. Brewer; L.S.V.G., Bro. E. Schicker; "Warden, Bro. R, Alty. ... L.M., Bro. E. W. Snowdon, initiated the newly-appointed officers to their respective chairs, congratulating each upon attaining office, and 1 stressing the importance of their duty. Two new members, Bros. J. Drewerey and E. Kay, "were initiated into tlie order. Bro. W. Marr, P.D.G.M., on behalf of the lodge, welcomed the new members. . In view of the forthcoming District Conference to be held at Manaia on Thursday, March 28, three deputies were appointed! to represent tho lodge, Bros. W, Marr, P.D.G.M., Bro. L. Schicker, P.G.A.M.. Bro. F. Beresford, G.M., being the officex-s appointed The meeting on March 18 was pre- . sided ever by N.G. Bro. J. Carbis, the attendance numbering about 30. Following an initiation and general lodge business, a good deal of discussion ensued in connection with the remits to be brought forward at the Manaia conference. , A vote of thanks and appreciation was accorded Bro. R. D l , Dti.gg, who had given his services as coach for the annual ritual competition.
