EGMONT WINTER MEETING.

An application, has been made to the Conference by the Egmont Racing Club for May 4 and 6 instead of May 9 and 11 for the date of their winter meeting. It is practically certain that the request will he granted. May 6is a public holiday, marking the jubilee of the King’s coronation. A most ambitious programme has been framed by the club, the stake money offered being the largest given for many years past. This is a really fine move on the part of the Egmont Racing Club and is likely to give racing in this district one of the greatest boosts it has had for many years.
