SCHOOL SWIMMING SPORTS
HAYvERA MAIN’S COMPETITIONS. LINN EL SENIOR BOV CHAMPION. M. SAME’S SENIOR GIRLS’ TITLE. The annual swimming sports of the pupils of the Hawera main school were held at the municipal baths this afternoon. There was a large attendance of both children and. parents, who thoroughly appreciated a splendid programme. Fortunately the weather was tine, bright sunshine prevailing throughout. The junior boys championship was won by B. Clarke (15 points) with A. Veale (4 points) second and R .Dick (three points) third. V. Binnel won ’ the senior boys’ championship with 15 - points from D. McGlashan (seven. • points) and Rowson (four points). ; In the girls division the junior i championship was won by Lillian Smith (15 points) with Mervyn Leece (six points) second and Poppy Bloor (three points) third. The senior championship was won by Alary Syme (11 points) with Verna Bailey (10 points) 'second and June Alarter (five points) third.
