WAVERLEY

SCHOOL SWIMMING SPORTS. The annual [swimming isports for pupils of the Waver]ey school were held in the Waverlev baths on Friday afternoon. The weather was ideal and there was a large attendance of parents, who followed the various events closely. Mr Gordon White was in charge of the sports and with the assistance of the other teachers of the school, -he events were despatched expeditiously. The number of competitors required that all events be competed for in heats. The following are the final results: Beginners’ race, 25 yards.—Nancy Heginbotham 1, V. Aiken 2, M. Williams 3, S. Williams 4. 25 yards, under 12 years.—Jimmy James 1, Ross Rallison 2, Shirley DalJison 3. 25 yards over 12 years.—James Elmslie 1, Ewen Lupton 2, M. Alexander 3. 25 yards open.—S. Imke I,J. Elmslie 2, M. Alexander 3. Riving.—J. Elmslie 1, J. Luke 2, M. Alexander 3.
