RAWHITIROA

THE LATE MR M. FARRELLY. The funeral of Mr Matthew Farrelly took place on Saturday. There was a large attendance. The pall-bearers were Messrs M. O’Connor, F. Tipler, F. Gave, S. Knuekey, A. McLaughlin and L. Stretton. Mr Farrelly, who died at the age; of 65 after a three weeks’ illness, was born, in County Cavan, Ireland, and came to New Zealand as a youth. He spent most of his life in Taranaki. He was one of the bush pioneers and took part in bushfelling and other work connected with land settlement. In recent years Mr Farrelly had been farming on Sangster Road, Rawhitroa. He did not marry. He leaves two brothers, one at Auckland one at Rawhitroa, and also a sister at Rawhitiroa.
