A state of siege has been proclaimed in Athens and several articles of tho constitution have been suspended. M. Tsaldaris lias taken over thcportfolio of Foreign Minister from M Maximos, who is now in Paris, and who resigned prior to the revolt. Admiral D'ouzmanis becomes Minister of Marine and M. Scliinas Air Minister. The Opposition leaders, Min. Cafadaris and Papanastasiou, who were discovered hiding in M. Venizelos’ house, have been arrested. M. Venizelos is reported to have issued an anti-Government proclamation inviting Cretan senators and deputies to attend a- special meeting. while the •.Government has detained the senators and deputies representing Salonica. Quiet now prevails on the mainland. A court-martial is being constituted for the trial of the rebels, but the mutineers retain possession of five warships, which aro believed to have reached Crete. The extent of the damage tho three warships suffered in Saturday’s bombing is not ascertainable. The cruiser Sveroff was again bombed in Sauda Bay, near Canea, to-day. Artillery has been dispatched to Kara Point, 10 miles from Salonica, which is under martial law, in lordor to bomb the rebel ships if they attempt to enter the harbour. a lt was officially announced later that aeroplanes bombed two rebel warships, but the damage is unknown. The Times Athens correspondent says that Cretan Vcnizelists revolted when the rebel fleet approached and superseded tho Governor by a Cretan colonel.

The Daily Mail’s Athens correspondent says an aeroplane squadron, ordered to sink or .secure the surrender of the runaway warships, this evening rained death on these vessels off Crete. The squadion leader reported that two destroyers Jiad been seriously damaged and that the bombers after refuelling would resume the attack.
