Miner’s Story of Robbery and Shooting PROVED A TISSUE OF LIES “PUBLIC NUISANCE” (Utattod Perm Awoctetion— By Electrto Telegraph Copyright) Received 2.30 p.m. to-dav. LONDON;, Feb. 26. A man named Fishwick, aged 32, a miner, was found on the roadside, in Durham, shot in the back. He alleged that a ma ; n in a, motor car attacked and robbed him. Fishwick’s life was despaired of in hospital, but he recovered and immediately was arrested and charged with being a public nuisance. The police stated that Fishwick’s story was a tissue of lies, apparently for the sake of notoriety. The police inquiries had cost several hundreds of pounds. The defence pleaded that Fishwick \\‘as suffering from delusions. The judge deferred sentence until the end of the Assizes.
