Arnold Edward Panned was fined £3O in the Magistrate’s Court to-day on a charge of manufacturing tobacco without a license. The proceedings were a sequel to a. raid on a house in the gully near Wangamoa Hill, where defendant had a plant. A customs officer stated that illegal trading in tobacco with evasion of duties was fairly prevalent in the district.
