CAR GOES OVER CLIFF. SEVERE INJURIES RECEIVED. (By Telegraph— Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 17. Receiving severe head injuries when his car went over tiro cliff near The Sign of the Kiwi, Arthur Gardiner, aged about 21, of Purau Buy, lay unconscious for four hours early this morning in wliat is known as the Governors Bay bush. When he came to he struggled about three miles to the hotel at Governors Bay and from there was taken to Lyttelton, where he is now in a private home. Although Gardiner’s injuries were severe it was not thought to-daj - that he was dangerously ill.
