“ACID TEST* SHIELD JOLL PLAYS KAUPOKONUI At the Aianaia bowling green on Tuesday evening a match was played for the “Acid Test" shield between three rinks representing the T. L. Joll and the Kaupokonui Dairy Companies. Two rinks contested the shield while a colts rink engaged In a friendly roll up.
The holders (Kaupokonui) successfully defended their title, the ±'olloaaing being the scores, the names of the Joll players being mentioned first: •Shearin, Fraser, Bradford, Johnstone 16 lost to Wie, Whalen, Edwards, McDonald 31.
Guy, Tippett, Cran, Kilpatrick 14 lost to Bourke, Webby, Boss, Corey 26. Totals: Joll 30 lost to Kaupokonui
In the colts’ match Kilpatrick, Graham, Bridgeman, Freathly 16 lost to Winterburn, McKain, Millar, Butler 23.
Mr Johnstone congratulated the winners and Air AlcDonald suitably replied. KAPONGA TO PLAY AVON Four Kaponga rinks to play Avon at Stratford on Saturday are as follow: Bennie, Blackwell, DaAA-son, V.
