Newspaper Magnate Leaves An Estate of £1,838,901
DEATH DUTY TOTALS £784,021 GIFTS TO EMPLOYEES (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). Received 11 a.m. to-day. LONDON, Jan. 16. Lord Riddell, the newspaper magnate. left an estate of £1,838,901, on which death duty amounting to £784021 was paid. Bequests include £I6OO each to Mr. Lloyd George and Mr Winston Churchill;’ £3OOO each to two personal servants; £2OOO to his bookkeeper; £1(X)0 to a. messenger; £SOOO and an annuity of £7OO to Jiis male secretary; £2OOO and an annuity of £BOO to his woman secretary; £SOO and an annuity of £3OO to his motor driver; six weeks’ salary to all the employees of the “New World”; £IOOO to James Braid, golf professional at Walton Heath ; of’which Lord Riddell was proprietor; £2OO each to two assistants,' and £IOO each to other club employees. Lord Rliddell also made liberal bequests to other employees and to the newspaper employees’ benevolent funds.
