SYDNEY, To-day. A new plea for the removal of the embargo on the importation of New Zealand potatoes into Australia was made to the Federal Minister cf Health, Mr. Hughes. A deputation, representing the Master Fishmongers’ Association, complained that because of the embargo, business in fish and chips find become unprofitable. Mr. Hughes, replying, .said it appeared that he was being asked to sacrifice the potato growers for the sake of the fishmongers. "V'YTlfe "'potato' growers have to get a decent price -for. .their potatoes, but I do know that tons of fish are dumped in the sea to keep the price of fish up here,” he added. ‘‘The man on tho land lias to pay for land to produce his potatoes, but the fisherman does not have to pay for the sea that produces the fish.”
