J. H. Wright and Polando (U.S.A.) in their Lambert monoooupe wer© forced down flt Persia, yesterday afternoon. The pilots were arrested, in spite of. then* passports being visaed by the Persian legation at London. They were 'held until late to-night, when their release was effected by two English residents. They are resuming the flight to-mor-row morning. . The K.L.M. Company is ordering ten more Douglasses similar to Parmentier’s for the Amsterdam-Batavia service, says a message from Amsterdam.
A thanksgiving service in connection with the centenary was held at St. Matthews Church, Manly, yesterday, says a message from Sydney. Prayers were offered for the relatives of Gilman and Baines. . Leaving Lympne at 3 p.m. on Friday, Colonel Fitzmaurice plans to reach Melbourne in 58 hours, including stopping an hour at Baghdad, Allahabad Singapore, Darwin and touching down the wheels at Charleville. No paper except the “Angriffe” attacks Colonel Fitzmaurice’s disqualification, says a message from Berlin.
