Round World in Eight Days
Imperial Airways and Pan American Agreement TRANS-ATLANTIC SERVICE (United Pi ess Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright). Received noon to-dav. LONDON, Oct. 24. Imperial Airways state that they have formed a joint agreement with the Pan American Airways for the joint operation of a trans-Atlantic service when it is practicable. Thus by 1939 these companies will probably be able to offer a round-the-world service in eight days. Plans for their routes are still indefinite. Two high speed squadrons are undergoing special training with a view to making a stratosphere flight to Buenos Aires in the spring of 1935, says a message from Rome. The flight is expected to take 33 hours. It is proposed later to establish a regular service to South America in co-operation with a French air line, using machines capable of carrying 20 passengers at 183 miles an hour.
