AUCKLAND VERSUS AUSTRALIA (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 16. On a ground which suited the visitors, the Australian hockey team drew with Auckland in a keenly contested game yesterday. Auckland was superior in the first half, establishing a 2nil lead by half time. Australia recovered and shortly before time was leading 3-2, and Auckland scored on the whistle. Auckland's goals in the first spell came from Fi. Watts ancl Robertson scoring in quick sucession. Australia replied With spasmodic attacks which failed through lack of combination. Milner scored for Australia early in the second half, and after a sustained attack Rothwell ran in following a penalty corner. After saving several shots the Auckland goalkeeper Was beaten by a high ball from Penman. F. Watts scored Auckland’s final goal from a corner.-
