MAIN EVENT TO VENTRAC A SENSATIONAL DIVIDEND GOLD CROSS’ WIN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHP # URTON, Sept. 15. The spring meeting of the: Ashburton County Raeing Club was held in fine but cold weather; the track was good. The attendance was good and the totalisator investments were £7743 10s, aganst £6164 for seven events last year. After the running of the Longbeach Handicap the stewards held an inquiry into a complaint by Brodie against Murfitt alleging interference at the turn into the straight, but after hearing evidence the stewards took no action.

An inquiry was held into the running of Wild Dreams in the Selma Trot, the stewards taking no action. In the Penseroft Hack Handicap the winner. Gold Cross, fourteenth favourite on both machines, paid a sensational dividend.
