HIT AFTER FALL FROM CAR
MOTORIST AT WHAKATANE SERIOUS INJURIES SUFFERED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ■WHAKATANE:, April 30: A double motor accident on Saturday night resulted in T. M. Lawson, supervisor of the 0-hope native consolidation block, being admitted to hospital with severe injuries to his head and body. While he was motoring out of the town his car hit the back of a stationery timber lorry a glancing blow and ricochetted into a telegraph post on the opposite side of the street. .Mr Lawson fell out in the middle of the roadway. Another lorry coming from the opposite direction was unable to stop and hit M’ Lawson, who was endeavouring to get up. He was pushed a short distance. He sustained a severe cut on the forehead and abrasions to his chest and legs and was rendered unconscious. His condition is still serious.
