Support for the removal of the present embargo' on the importation of stock from Great Britain to New Zealand was given by the general committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association at its meeting this afternoon. The embargo! was discussed at the annual meeting of the association recently and it was left to the general comtaittee to. deal yith. After discussion the following resolution was carried by 18 votes .to 9: That the present embargo on the importation of stock from G-reat Britain be removed and that importations .be allowed provided the New Zealand quarantine period is extended to three months.
