STOLEN HEIFER AND CALF
DETENTION FOR YOUNG MAN. PREAIEDITATED OFFENCE'. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TE KUITI, Nov. 7. L. G. West, aged 22, Aria., charged yesterday with stealing a heifer and calf valued at £3 10s, was sentenced by Air. F. H. Levien in the Magistrate’s Court to one year’s reformative detention. An accomplice, A. H. Wells, atged 29, married, was placed on probation for three years. Both admitted that it was a premeditated offence, AYest stating that he was the ringleader. Both were first offenders.
