KAPONGA

TENNIS SEASON OPENING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) There was a large attendance at the season’s official opening of the Kaponga Tennis Club’s courts on Thursday afternoon. The neighbouring clubs were not represented as well as usual, Auroa being the only one sending a representative. The president, Mr F. W. Fallows, extended a welcome to all and expressed hopes for the success of the season. Ho declared the courts open for play and a Yankee tournament was proceeded with. Some very good .sets were witnessed during the afternoon. In the final gaino Miss B. O’Don. (Auroa) and Mr J. Bolger defeated Mrs J. Bolger and Mr F. W. Fallows. 'UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF. The allocation under the No. 5 unemployment relief scheme tor _ this week provided work for all eligible men as follows: Two A, seven B and four O class men.
