CITY WORKS LOAN
STANDARD RATES OF PAY AUCKLAND PROGRAMME (By Telegrapn—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 6. After a number of unexpected delays the Mayor, Mr G. W. Hutchison, has succeeded in arranging for a city works loan of £116,000 at 4 1-8 per cent, for the employment of a number of present relief workers at standard rates of pay. The money has been made available by the Australian Mutual Provident Society, and the programme of works will be put in hand almost immediately. The works oil .schedule will require about 2-50 men and will take two and a-half years to complete. In addition many will be employed in the supply of materials.
