After the banning of a meeting in Smithfield Square, Belfast, as a protest against the detention in the Belfast gaol of Republican Army suspects, the ■police mare repeated baton charges on the crowd amid shouts of “Up Republic! Up de Valera!” They arrested the chairman as well as a member of the Board of Guardians and three others. Several were injured. Armoured cars subsequently patrolled the streets. , DISSOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT. ELECTION AT END OF MONTH. LONDON, Nov. G. The Northern Ireland Parliament will be dissolved in the present -week. Nominations will bo due on November 20 and the elections will probably be held on November 30. All the Unionists will seek re-election, and unionists will also contest two Independent and one 'Socialist seat.
