Hamilton explained that the secretary of the Wanganui Asso- ' citation was .-confident that if tiiere j was any prospect of amalgamation the debt on .the Wanganui Association could be paid off and. a fair start made. Probably Patea Association could do the same. The expenses need not be much. He was sure the Hawera auctioneers would . lend their yards, as had been done at Waverley one year. „
Mr. Geo. McLean suggested that the committee ascertain whether amalgamation was. possible and report to a future meeting.
