Following a conference between President .Roosevelt and the Secretary- of the Navy, Mr Swanson, it was announced that the movement of the United States’ Eleet from the Pacific to the Atlantic was being seriously considered. Later Mr Roosevelt authorised a cruise of the fleet into Atlantic waters next summer.
