NOT WORTH A CHANCE
SALESMAN ON THEFT CHARGE. SIX MONTHS’ IMPRISONMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 2. Impugned by the probation officer as not worth another chance, Neville Eric Watkins/ aged 21, a salesman, was to day sentenced by Mr. Page, S.M., to six months’ imprisonment for the theft of a motor tyre.
Another charge had relation to the conversion of a motor-cycle, and with regard to this the police said tiuu Watkins had approached a man named Luchosi. representing himself! as a prospective buyer, and was then given permission to ride the machine round the block. However, lie rode it tc Levin and returned it only after police inquiries were started. On this and another charge he was ordered to come up for senteince if called on within two years.
