Herr Hitler and other Nazi leaders are energetically conducting the election campaign amid the greatest enthusiasm. Herr Hitler is often returning for his State duties to Berlin at night time and re-starting; op the following morning. Herr von Papen in an election manifesto calls on German Catholics to vote Nazi. He .says: “Let nobody remain. at home owing to some petty grievance. All must contribute towards peace at homo and' abroad aim towards Germany’s further rise as a nation."”
The appeal contrasts sharply- with the address of Cardinal Bertram; archbishop of Breslau, expressing -concern for the future of Roman Catholicism under the Nazi regime. The cardinal condemned the piesent custom of devoting the whole of Sunday to political and athletic manifestations.
