• HELSINGFORS (Finland), Oct. 29. A furious battle followed the escape of a trainload of convicts at Vologda, en route to Archangel timber camps. The occupants of a wagon broke loose on arrival! at the station, overpowered and disarmed the* guards and liberated their fellow prisoners. They then set fire to the local station and massacred the inmates. Troops hastened from the town ana stormed the station, and buildings, where a fierce 'engagement occurred in w r hioh hundreds were hilled or wounded on both sides. Many convicts fled to the forests, where soldiers are pursuing them.
