DURATION RECORDS BROKEN
PALMERSTON SUCCESS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Sept 26. Two model aeroplane records tor duration flights were broken by Mr H. G Parker, instructor to the Hornet Model Aero Club, over the week-end. The indoor record was- raised by 2o seconds, the duration of the flight being lmin 42sec. With the same machine the record of Mr W. Mackley, of Auckland, for an outdoor flight was bettered by 52 seconds, the aeroplane remaining in the air for 14 minutes. ' The machine took off from the ground in Andrew Young Street and flew over the Square at a height of approximately 1000 feet in the direction of College Street, It disappeared into a fleecy cloud and reappeared over the Hokowhitu school after being in the air 11 minutes. It then headed toward the Manawatu River as it increased its height. Three minutes later it disappeared into a cloud', when it- was clocked as down.
