The great copper mine at Cobar, which has been kilo for some years, is. on fire. It is believed that somebody set fire to the ore bins.. The poppet head was also set alight. It burned to the ground and the flames descended the shaft. , , . - Dense clouds and choking fume* aie bein<>- o-iven off and the smoke has enveloped the town. Nothing can be done to extinguish the fire which probably will burn to the water’s level in the mine.
