MOKOIA

WOMEN ’.S DIVISION. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the MokomWhakamara branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Mokoia Hall on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs S. P. Buckrell presiding. It was decided to send 10s as a donation to the Flock House fund. A very interesting address on the curing of sheepskins was given by Mrs Nicholas, of Ilawera, and Mrs J. Dobson, of Whakamara, gave a demonstration on “wool quilt-making. Votes of appreciation were carried by acclamation. Afternoon tea served by the local ladies concluded the meeting. CRICKET. The Mokoia cricket team started practices on Wednesday afternoon in Mr 15. J. Ilawken’s property and the good attendance maintained gives an indication of a successful season.
