WHANGAREI, A.ug. 26. The trip, of the H.M.S. Canberra from Sydney was marked by a tragedy. At 7 o'clock on Monday night Francis Flanagan, yeoman of (signals, aged 31, a. native of New South Wales, committed suicide on the upper deck, shooting himself with a service rifle. He was buried at sea next morning. A court of inquiry will be held later.
