NEW SHEARING AWARDS
AGREEMENTS CONFIRMED. (Bj Telegraph— Crest Association.! AUCKLAND, Aug. 25. Industrial agreements reached in- the Conciliation Council between sheepowners and shearers aaid shed-hands in the Northern Wellington:, Marlborough, Canterbury' and Otago and industrial districts were converted into awards by the Arbitration Court to-day. The new awards will come into, force on September 1 aind will .remain in operation until March 31, 193 G. Shearers will receive not less than 18s a hundred sheep o.r lambs with rations, 5s mOiro to. be paid where shearers find their own rations. Shod hands and pTCtssons will receive £2 5s a week or Is 3d an hour, and others £2 a week or Is ld : a.n hour, cooks £2 16s minimum or 10s a day r , assistants £2 5s or Bs. Where shed "hands provide their own rations an extra £1 a week, will be paid.
