Tlie report of the special committee Bet up ibv the Victoria University College Council to inquire into certain, charges and insinuations Tirade against the teaching staff of the institution was presented at a. meeting of the council this evening. . y - In the report, -which was adopted by tlie council, the connnittee Stated it was satisfied there had been no evidence adduced in any way reflecting upon the teaching staff of the college, and considered that it deserved the entire confidence of the council, and that any suggestions to the contrary were unfounded. The inquiry arose out of a controversy in the Wellington Press in which certain institutions and persons made statements concerning the conduct of the stall' and students of the university.
