RADIO B STATIONS

AGAIN - IN DIFFICULTIES BROADCAST OF RECORDS (By Telegraph—Pres." Association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 26. Radio broadcasting stations of B class in New Zealand aa v e, it is understood, again faced with difficulties over the use of gramophone records, principal! manufacturers of which have notified them that certain proposals submitted are not acceptable. These stations may, therefore, .rise only records not bearing an* indication that broadcasting is prohibited. The president of the New Zealand Federation of B Stations, Mr R.. H. Nimmo, stated that the Australian B stations are enjoying the full use of records, but the manufacturers had pointed out that this was possible, not only through financial arrangement, but through an undertaking by the B stations to devote half an hour weekly to the specific advertising of records, involving straightout publicity for the gramophone companies. The requirements were out of the question under the present New Zealand regulations.
