AUCKLAND, Aug. 26. A .short trip to Suva preparatory to his departure for Dunedin lias been decided upon by Mr Lincoln Ellsworth, the leader of the trails-Antarctic expedition, and lie leaves by the Mariposa this afternoon, returning by the Monterey on September 8 and then going to Christchurch, Mt. Cook and Dunedin. Mr Ellsworth said lie expected iiis companions on the expedition to reach Dunedin about October I. His plans provided for the return, of the expedition to New Zealand about midJanuary, enabling him to be back in New York early in April.
