GIFT AFTERNOON

SCOTT ROAD G ATHERING.

A gift afternoon which proved replete with enjoyment was given by the Misses Washer at tlieir home on the Scott Road in honour of Miss Jean Blair, whose wedding will take place next week. There were present Misses E. Buist. M.' Hawken, E. Murdoch, S. Coleman, J. Powdrell, F. Buckeridge, D. Meyrick, A. Page, G. Goodson, Livingston and G. Quin. Presents were given to Miss Blair with the good wishes- of her friends. Mrs Washer and Miss. McDonald escorted the guests rouud the picturesque garden and all were delighted- with the display of _ blooms and flowering shrubs. A. dainty 'afternoon tea concluded a -very happy afternoon.
