Miss K. Brown and ill*. C. Wheeler won the Monte Carlo waltz at the Christmas festivities dance in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. The Manaia Municipal Band will render a programme in the rotunda at Manaia to-morrow evening commencing at 7.30 p.m-
.\t the weekly luncheon of the Hawera Rotary Club, to-day Mr C. R. Switzer, overseer of the constructian department of the (local ])ost office, gave a very interesting and informative address on the Panama Oanal. The thanks of the club were suitably expressed by Rotariam J. 0. Fletcher.
