BOARD’S QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Rotokare Domain Board was held on Tuesday evening at Eltham. Those present were Messrs W. Stunners, L. White, I. J. Bridger and 'H. Murray (secretary). An apology for absence was received from the chairman, Mr G. H. White. Mr Bridger was voted to the chair. Mr iStanners reported that he had recently made an inspection of the road and the reserve. Several large slips had occurred on the road. These have been cleared, but there "were a number of small ones which were blocking wie water tables and causing trouble and it rvas difficult for cars to pass with safety. When these slips were cleared the road would be in good order. Numbers of cattle were still allowed to trespass in the reserve and wore doing grave damage to the undergrowth. The raft had come to pieces and the barrels had been sunk in the lake. 'lt was decided to ask the county council to attend to the obstruction oil the road. Regarding the cattle it was decided to notify land owners adjoining the reserve that if the nuisance continued the stock would be impounded and damage claimed for damage done to the reserve. It was decided to leave the matter of painting the boat and the purchase of a pair of oars to Mr Stunners for action. The matter of arranging for the erection of a suitable jetty was left to Messrs Bridger and 'Stanners' with power to act, the cost not to exceed £6. It was recommended to the recreation committee that a picnic and sports be held at the lake on Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.
