(From Our Own Correspondent.) HALL lAIPROVEAIENT PLANS. On 'Friday evening a meeting of the Auroa hall committee was held. Air Buxton presided and Air 11. R. Wood carried out the duties of secretary. The ■ financial statement showed a credit of £3O and it was decided to have some repairs and alterations carried out in the nail. TENNIS CLUB DANCE. PRESENTATION TO-EX-SECRETARY. | On Saturday evening another very successful tennis dance was held. It proved so popular that the assemblies are to be continued. Mr J. Hooker supplied excellent dance music and also acted as AI.C. Air Erie Austin played an extra. Just before supper, Air J. Freyne, president of the tennis club, expressed the regret of all at the departure of Aliss Lily King, who has had to relinquish her duties as secretary of the club. The club members felt that they, must give Aliss King some tangible token of their appreciation of her services, and on behalf of all Air Freyne asked Aliss King to accept an antique copper jardiniere. Air . King, in expressing thanks on behalf of his daughter, said that the i fi no sporting spirit- of members had I made Miss King’s duties a pleasure to ! h er - Aliss King thanked all for their beautiful gift and said that the Auroa Tennis Club was one of the finest to he associated with. All sang “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”

A dainty supper was provided. ■On Alonday evening a meeting of the tennis club members was held. Air Freyne presided over a large attendance. Arrangements were made for laising further funds per medium of dances and a big function on Boxes' Night. Air King was thanked for the loan of a tennis net. The membership for the coming season promises to he larger than ever. PERSONAL. Mr Bert Sandford, who has been seriously ill, is still an inmate of the Hawera Hospital.
