EVANGELIST TO BE APPOINTED. JUBILEE £SOO DONATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 11. The jubilee conference of the Baptist Union to-day resolved that the assembly appoint' a denominational evangelist and that the executive committee present details of a scheme to a later meeting of the assembly. It was reported that a special jubilee fund for Church extension had been formed with an initial gift of £SOO from the Auckland Tabernacle. Moneys in the fund wdll be lent to churches free of interest. A committee of five is to be appointed to administer the fund.
