A special meeting of the federal council of the Australian Railways Union to-day passed the following motion: “We will resist any attempt by the Commonwealth Government to deregister our union because of its affiliation with the Red International of Trade Unions.”

The decision is regarded as a threat of a general strike if the Government enforces recent legislation dealing with Communists and unions affiliated with Soviet bodies.
