(UniteU f 1 rP'S Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) j LONDON, April 5. | A' message from Funchal, Madeira, j says that, allegedly instigated by de- ( portees from Lisbon, local troops, with troops sent from Lisbon to deal with the recent general strike, revolted and 1 arrested the High Commissioner, the civil and military governors, and took over the telegraphs, telephones, the j Bank of Portugal and local finance department and nominated General Sousa Dias as Governor and head of a military junta, which issued a manifesto declaring that the movement aimed at abolishing the revolutionary regime. The Lisbon Government will to-mor-row despatch a cruiser and a machine gun batallion to Funchal. Madeira consist of a group of islands 500 miles south-west of Lisbon and is an integral province of Portugal. The inhabitants are of mixed Portuguese, Moorish and negro descent.
