The tram company recently absorbed the opposition bus run to Seapoint and appointed Mr. Hughes, owner of the opposition. manager of the Seapoint section. The men refused to join the tram union and struck at midnight. Police guarded the garages, but the strikers succeeded in climbing through the skylight of the headquarters depot and removed all essential parts as well as deflating all the tyres. It has been raining to-day and the full effect of the strike will not be felt until resumption of business tomorrow.
