BELIEF AND DANCE. (From Our Own Correspondent). V very successful euchre party aiul dance was held in the Wharorou Hall list Friday evening to procure funds for the relief of the „ull'erer.s from the earthquake. The hall was prettily decorated hy coloured streamers and supper was supplied by the ladies under the supervision of Mrs. D. 1. George and Miss Fiveash. There was a- record attendance and an orchestra of hy supplied pome excellent iputicl, Mrs. Ii Ste Her t kindly played a- few extras Th P prizes for the euchre, winch were donated by Mrs. George and Miss Five■iA 1 were won by Mrs. Paterson and M>- Goodman. The Monte Carlo v alts was won by Miss Margaret Nesbit and Mr. Arthur Newell. These .prizes were donated by Mr. Goodman and 'Miss George. Air. Darcy Hicks proved an efficient M.C. and 'presented the prizes to the winners. The lor the relief of the earthquake sufferers benefited to the extent of £5 3s.
