NEW PLYMOUTH SESSION. LIGHT CALENDAR OF CASES. Thomson, G. IT. Saunders, J). Je C, Morgan. The Grand Jury returned true bills on all the indictments as follow: Robert Thomas AlcCallum, alleged attempted unnatural offence. Clarence Growcott and Thomas John Henry Withers, alleged sheepstealmg (two charges). David Morrow Crozier, alleged carnal knowledge (six charges); and alleged indecent assault (six charges). Arthur John Crawford, alleged theft and receiving. Pleas of guilty were entered by Clarence Growcott and Thomas Henry John Withers (Mr. L. Al. Moss) when indicted with the theft of three lambs belonging to Jinnee, Fullerton Ritchie. Nolfolk Road, and valued at £1 each. The first offence related to one lamb and was committed in November. The other two were .stolen in December. The prisoners were remanded for .sentne till to-day. Ro7>rt Thomas McCallum will also be fsientenced t|o-da!y., He| admitted an attempted unnatural offence at Stratford on January 26. He was represented by Mr. C. E. Monaghan. Civil’ fixtures until Monday were made as follow: To-day.—ln divorce: Austin v. Austin and Newell (before judge and jury), j To-morrow. —G. A. Anderson v. E. .Lelirke (before judge and jury). Thursday.—N. H. Gaine v. Taranaki Farmers’ Mutual Fire Insurance Association. Monday.—Smith and Smith, Ltd., v. W. T. Ogilvie In view of the fact that a retrial of D. Al. Crozier on charges of carnal knowledge and indecent assault had been ordered to follow the trial to-day of A. J. Crawford for alleged theft and receiving, it is possible the fixture in divorce will not he reached as early as originally anticipated. The acton brought by L. H. Jardine against J. Somerton for damages arising out of a motor collision has been withdrawn from flu- hearing of the court. Actions reported seltled were those of J. C. Spedding v. G. AIeAV. Webster (claim for £616 10s .‘id tor moneys alleged to have been withdrawn from a bankrupt, account and appropriated lo own use), and that of Alary O. Alellow v the Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand. Ltd. (claim for damages for alleged breach of condition that a car purchased was to be new). The first case was struck out, while regarding the second it was said that only the terms of .settlement required to he executed.
