FOAL WITH EIGHT LEGS

CURIOUS FREAK OF NATURE. At tli|c Royal Veterinary College, King’s Cross, London, there is one of the most remarkable freaks of nature on record, a foal with eight limbs. Four Iqgis are of the ordinary shape and size, and sprouting from each is a small limb complete with cannon bone, pastern, and hoof. The dam, which belongs to Captain Bertram Mills, is a. wed-bred mare, and she had an extra miniature leg attached to the inside of each fore fetlock, but these have been recently removed in Pile college infirmary, it is an extraordinary instance of hereditary transmission that her foal should have been born with extra liml®. 'i’he youngster a few weeks ago was as frisky and playful as a kitten, and suffered no disability from the additional appendages.
