Sir William Jowitt, the British At-torney-General, who returned recently from America, was impressed by two things connected with motoring which he noticed over there. One was the method of motor car registration, by which the history of the car and its owner could he given within 90 seconds of receiving the number. The other was a road law which made it an offence to travel at less than 40 miles an hour on certain highways. The former is certainly needed over here, but with the narrowness and congestion of modern roads in this country the latter would be somewhat dangerous.
