PAYMENTS EXCEED RECEIPTS
PROBLEM FOR NEW SOUTH WALES. BIG DISCREPANCY SHOWN. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright). Deceived 10 a.m. to-dav. SYDNEY, Jan. 9. A report on the state of the finances for the six months period of the present financial year shows that expenditure exceeded revenue by £5,353,839. The revenue amounted to £19,923,944, a net decrease of £1,347 compared with the corresponding period of last year, and the expenditure totalled £25,277,783, a decrease of £1,278,415.
