HAWERA MUNICIPAL BAND
THE RECENT BAZAAR. PROCEEDS HANDED OVER. The last act in the work ol’ the committee which organised the Municipal Band bazaar took place on Friday at the band-room, wnen, in the presence of a number of people interested and of the citizens’ committee, the proceeds, totalling £153 19s Bd, were handed over to the honorary treasurer of the committee (Mr. H. N. Lester,) by Mrs. E. A. Pacey, the president of the bazaar executive. Tributes were paid to the ladies’ committee, of which Mrs. W. G. Simpson was honorary secretary, by Messrs FJ. Dixon and Lester. They cordially thanked all for the great assistance given on behalf of the band, mentioning also the euchre parties and other functions arranged by them. Mr. H. C. A. Fox. conductor, endorsed these remarks, speaking for the members of the band and stressing the value of the service rendered. The ladies intend to hold a shop day at a. later date to dispose of a lot of goods on hand. Afternoon tea supplied by the ladies concluded the function.
